Fine Terroirs from South-West France!
Dear Friends

South-West France abounds with a great variety of high quality terroirs or geographic plots for wine production. Domaine de Fages in Cahors has got the chance to own vineyards on the famous causses or limestone plateaus with a variation of soils which are very beneficial for grape growing. Some of them include iron and silica which produce a nice mineral character in the wines.

And Claude Loustalot from Domaine Bru-Baché on the Jurançon appellation runs his estate on steep ground on terrasses at the feet of the Pyrenees. Soils are varied with limestone and clay with some sand as well which combined with the proximity to the mountains provide freshness and elegance.

These 3 suggested wines offer unbeatable value for money and are of course with organic certification and fermented with indigenous yeasts! There are available for sampling so please stop by to see for yourself.

Domaine Bru-Baché
Claude Loustalot is a master winemaker and produces fine dry and sweet Jurançons which vineyards are on the slopes of Castérasses in the city of Monein under the Pyrenees. This proximity with the mountains and his limestone and clay soils provide fruitiness and freshness in the wines. It is one of the finest estates of the appellation.

Domaine de Fages
It is the second generation of the Croisille family which runs this estate also known as Château les Croisille on the Cahors appellation. The famous «causses» or limestone plateaus are the ideal place to grow vines which have been on a new path since the sons of the family joined their parents in 2008 and took the organic path in 2010. Nowadays all the wines are certified and each wine is made with natural yeasts seperately depending on the plot from where it originates. A little sulfites are added during the bottling process. The wines are fresh and fruity offering great value for money.

A 100% Malbec from 30 years old vines with 20% carbonic maceration to make the wine smoother. Winemaking is made with natural yeasts and the maturation is in steel tanks. As a result the wine is fruity with redcurrant liqueur aroma and a round and fresh palate. An excellent light Cahors to enjoy with a variety of dishes.

Cahors Hautes Terres 2016

Their Cahors from limestone and clay soils with silica and iron components. The wine is fermented naturally and then matures for 2/3rd in cement tanks and 1/3rd in old oak barrels for a year. As a result you will taste a very elegant, mineral and fruity Cahors from the new young generation of winemakers who look for freshness and fruitiness. Enjoy with grilled or substantial food.
