Freshness from Portugal
Dear all

Portuguese wines are quite unknown and often wrongly seen as powerful and rich as located at the South of Europe... But that is not the case!

This country is full of «terroirs» offering altitudes and styles of soils and expositions which are perfect for producing wines with tons of freshness inside!

These 4 wines this time are synonymous with finesse, roundness and freshness of course. Also they are produced by 2 wine estates which have proved themselves and are organic pioneers in the country!

They will be available to taste along the 28 other bottles we have available to sample for free everyday.

See you soon!

Freshness from Portugal
A selection of organic and biodynamic wines synonymous with freshness from two very fine estates also organic pioneers!

Casa de Mouraz
Casa de Mouraz is a family estate a few generations old but created under this name by one of the descendant António Ribeiro and his wife Sara Dionisio in 2000 who gave up their jobs in Lisbon to take over the vineyards. They are considered organic pioneers since they are the first in the region to get the organic certification in 1997. The vineyards are planted with many different local grape varieties and fermented all blended together which make the wines very interesting and representing a style of wine with lots of intensity of taste as well as freshness. Barrels are very rarely used. They have been practicing biodynamic winemaking since 2006 and are part of the very prestigious association of biodynamic winemakers called Renaissance des Appellations.

Outeiros Altos
It is the story of a couple Fernanda and Jorge, two agricultural engineers who decided to produce wine with respect for nature in Alentejo in 2001. They purchased a piece of land and went on to planting vines at an altitude of 300 to 350 metres at the feet of the Serra d'Ossa mountains with Schists and clay soils. They got the organic certification in 2009. The wines are produced from indigenous grape varieties and fermentations are done in tanks or clay amphoras (Talha) like they used to do 2000 years ago.
